Description
Castelo Branco embroidery is one of the most typical products in the Beira Baixa region. They appear mainly on bedspreads and other linen items embroidered with natural silk thread, with oriental-inspired designs.
Some of the elements of these embroidery are the home and the Tree of Life (from the Bible), the betrothed (represented by birds together), the carnations and roses representing the man and the woman, respectively, the lilies, Virtue, hearts for Love, tendrils for Friendship, among others.
